Pleasant Hearth Medium Pellet Stove Review

There are two factors that make a pellet stove great: unimpaired functionality and great design. Obviously, other aspects matter just as much, but most people agree on these two as being the most important.

Luckily, you won’t need to spend hours looking for a stove that combines the two successfully: the Pleasant Hearth Medium Pellet Stove has great chances of being that unique item that will complete your living room.

About The Product

If you’re sick of those sizeable stoves that have saturated this industry, you’ll definitely appreciate Pleasant Hearth’s product. It is somewhat more compact than your customary pellet stove.

Heating With Pleasant Hearth Medium Pellet Stove

This, however, doesn’t mean it’s less effective than those gigantic ones. This particular model has 35,000 BTU, which account for the fact that it can warm up an area of almost 2,000 square feet.

A great thing about this is that it can work continuously on either the minimum or maximum setting. The burning efficiency is 85%, which isn’t bad at all. The Pleasant Hearth brand isn’t that well known, but there’s little reason for that.

Here’s a list of features the Pleasant Hearth is endowed with:

  • check
    35,000 BTU
  • check
    Hopper capacity of 40 pounds
  • check
    85% burn efficiency
  • check
    5 different heat settings
  • check
    Automatic ignition of the fire
  • check
An option that makes the stove run 24/7
  • check
    Vent kit included
  • check
    Convection blower included
  • check
    Weight: 195 pounds

The weight, we’re positive, is what will attract many customers. Many other pellet stoves can weigh twice or even thrice as much.

The Results

There are reports that this does a fantastic job even if your house isn’t properly insulated. If this doesn’t make it great, we don’t know what does. The heat blower is actually really important.

Thanks to it, it’s like the stove has a lot more than just 35,000 BTU. No matter how icy cold it’s outside, this always does its job, which sadly cannot be said about 80% or even more of all pellet stoves that are commercialized nowadays.

Even though the manufacturer states it warms up to 1,750 sq. feet, the heat blower can be used in order to get a 2,200 sq. feet area heated up just as well. We like this kind of surprises.

Cleaning this stove can be done in less than 30 minutes. The installation, too, won’t take longer than that, even if you have no idea what to do, at first. Moreover, it’s a quiet pellet stove.

To cut it to the chase: what you pay is what you get. No more and no less than that.

What Others Say

Customers are generally happy with their purchase. Many people praise everything about it but of course, just like with any other product, it has its own share of people who badmouth it.

Pleasant Hearth Medium Pellet Stove Back Side

According to some, this is by no means as durable as they were led to believe it is. There are reports from customers that say their product malfunctioned after a couple of months. But then again, the number of positive testimonials outweighs that of negative ones.

The truth might just be somewhere in the middle: this isn’t the best pellet stove ever made, but it’s not the worst, either.

What We Liked

The first thing that struck us most was its design. It’s somewhat more pleasant and stylish than other brands. It can be purchased in two models: medium and cabinet. We liked the cabinet most, as it can save a lot of space in a room.

The features are not bad at all for the price. 35,000 BTU is more than enough to heat a huge area, even when the house might not be 100% insulated. The heat settings are a plus, and are more than welcome when it comes to getting the desired temperature.

What We Didn’t Like

Functionality-wise, we haven’t had any issues with this stove. What we’re concerned about, though, is the quite high number of negative testimonials. Again, personally, we don’t have a bone to pick with it.

Nonetheless, if it’s to believe what other people have said about it, then Pleasant Hearth needs to address some of the issues that have been specified by previous customers. They speak about some severe impairments.

Something that we’ve found a little annoying about this (but we can live with it) is the fact that it needs so much more cleaning than your customary stove. We don’t know why this happens, but well…

Buying Advice

Today, you can purchase a product in 10 minutes just by hitting “Order”. However, you should be careful where you order it from. We advise you to consider getting the Pleasant Hearth Medium Pellet Stove from Amazon.

The reason why you should do this is that you can surf through various buying options. If you haven’t got money for a brand-new one, you will probably find it as second-hand. Other websites/stores might not give you this freedom.

Moreover, by ordering this pellet stove from Amazon, you will benefit from free shipping. You know that in many cases, the price of the shipping is surreal and can be 20-30% of the value of the product.

Needless to say, that’s not feasible at all.

Final Thoughts

We won’t lie to you: if you have the money, you should focus on another stove. There are a few shortcomings that will definitely make many people think twice about it. We don’t mean to badmouth the product, we’re merely expanding on what customers say.

We’ve had this for approximately half a year now, and it has worked perfectly, so we’re not against it. Maybe it’s all about luck in this case. You can end up with a good, reliable stove or with a bad one. That’s how these things often go.

We recommend this, but not wholeheartedly. You can do a lot better if you’ve got the financing you need. Hope this review helped clear out the issue a bit.
